Cigarette Smoking Affects Anti-Aging Gene
Need another reason to feel good about quitting smoking? A U.S. researcher has discovered that smoking may disable a gene that protects us against premature aging. The gene regulates chronic inflammation, cancer, and aging and is tied to increased lifespan and protection against processes which cause premature aging. Smoking appears to inhibit the activity of this gene. Looks like quitting may not only help us live a healthier and happier life, but also a longer and more youthful one!
